If you spent the last few years planning to sit VCP-DCV, that plan is dead. Broadcom retired the exam in December 2025, closing out one of the most recognized credentials in enterprise IT and replacing it with two new options that don’t map to it one for one.<\/p>\n
That split confuses people. VCP-VVF Administrator and VCP-VCF Administrator sound like minor variations on the same theme, but they test different job functions, carry different question counts, and point toward different career paths. Broadcom pulled VCP-DCV from the active exam catalog on December 15, 2025, along with several other legacy VCP and VCA credentials tied to the pre-acquisition certification structure. If you already hold VCP-DCV, nothing disappears from your record. It stays listed and verifiable in Broadcom’s certification system permanently.<\/p>\n
What changes is what happens next. You can no longer walk into a testing center and sit VCP-DCV to earn it fresh, and you can’t use it to satisfy a job posting that specifically asks for an active, current credential.
